Thiruvananthapuram is a very technical city in
India and many centers such as ISRO center and many companies are selling the
products there, as people are pretty educated there and know how to use the
technology. As we know that the next iPhone probably coming in next couple of months
and a new curved TV coming from Samsung, Existing devices are going
incompatible with the new technologies, so it kind of like they forcing the consumers
to buy new products and it just “want” and “need” strategies of companies. The
laptops and computers are going thinner then the ever before, Smartphone are going
smarter than ever before. Ultimately the thing is more technology will bring
the more e-waste into the city. Currently the city is struggling with the pile
of hazards waste and garbage scattered around the city and fields.

“The idea of
‘planned obsolescence’ by which a product is manufactured by artificially
limiting its lifespan was in currency even 100 years ago, when manufacturers of
things such as light bulbs colluded to set a maximum lifespan for the products.
But the current speed of innovation in electronic goods has made it far easier
for manufacturers, as consumers are now faced with a combination of ‘want’ and
‘need.” As published on a News Source.
As of 2014, the technology and environment is
not words to pronounce at the same time because the evolution of tech is
harming the atmosphere. It is growing at very fast speed and companies are manufacturing
the products in a very easy manner and without any problem. Countries are struggling
to take care of the waste by sending it another one so that’s not a solution to
the problem. The figure says that every year we encounter about 10 to 20 metric
ton of garbage produced from the electronic waste.
As the World is become more unstable as the
e-waste and other pollution makes too much problem for earth, and main problem
for causing the Global warming and overheating. So Microsoft which is a third
most valuable brand in the world has came together into the E-waste Recycling
program with the R2 Leaders. The R2 Leaders holds the member such as Sony
America, Xerox and Goodwill Industry; this group is totally aimed to recycling
the electronic garbage and means to keep the e-gadgets out of the landfills
also R2 standers is totally based to call as many as Recyclers they can join
for safe Environment, health and a safe living, which more like challenged by
the waste. The standers also ensure that no other toxic material can infect the
soil of earth and responsibly be reused or disposed without releasing any
harmful gases into the atmosphere. The Re leaders have conducting 540 recycling
divisions across 17 countries to tackle with a huge problem of human race.
“Microsoft
also operates recycling programs for our products, including Surface, Xbox and
Nokia devices. Some of these programs are directly managed by Microsoft and
when selecting recycling suppliers, the standards they are certified to all
count towards selection of the final supplier. In other parts of the world such
as Europe, Microsoft is a member of consortia that operates recycling programs.”

The Technology had evolved but it came with many
problems and human race must be responsible for this. Microsoft already running
few Stores to collect the devices such as Surface, Xbox, and Nokia Devices, but
that’s not enough. The Microsoft is now concerned but companies like Google,
Apple are already planned many thing to take care of the garbage from their
products such as iPhone, iPad, iMac and eliminated the use of PVC.
